Very veggie soup
Serves 1

Try whizzing some peeled and chopped vegetables (we've used a swede, a small carrot and a small potato) in a blender with a pint of vegetable stock, made with half stock cube, and a 3cm piece of peeled and chopped ginger.

Heat  in a pan until warmed through and serve with chunks of crusty bread for a delicious winter warmer.

Ham and pepper pizza
Serves 1

Try spreading an Italian pizza base with 3 tablespoons Sainsbury's Italian passata and sprinkle with some dried oregano.

Top with half a red pepper, deseeded and chopped, some sliced ham and shredded cheese.

Bake in a preheated oven at 220˚C, fan 200˚C, gas 7 for 12 minutes for a quick meal for one.

Chicken & pesto pasties
Serves 4

Try cutting ready rolled puff pastry into 4 rectangles.

Spread each rectangle with 1 teaspoon green pesto and place pieces of cooked chicken and some halved cherry tomatoes in the centre.

Fold over to enclose the filling and bake in a preheated oven at 220˚C, fan 200˚C, gas 7 until golden.

Serve with cooked new potatoes and broccoli for a tasty meal.

Banana, bread and custard pud
Serves 4

Try cutting four slices of bread in half diagonally.

Place the bread in a small baking dish, alternating with slices of banana and small dollops of strawberry jam.

Pour over custard and cook in a preheated oven at 170˚C, fan 160˚C, gas 3 for around 20–25 minutes.

Once cooked, sprinkle with brown sugar and grill for a further 2 minutes until golden.
