Sainsbury's 1kg Aberdeen Angus Silverside Diced Beef, Taste the Difference

Cooking instructions: Oven

Oven cook from chilled. If freezing at home, defrost thoroughly before cooking. Before cooking: Remove all packaging and preheat oven to 190°C/Fan 170°C/Gas 5. Place flour in a bowl and season lightly with salt and pepper. Toss the diced beef in the flour to coat, shake off to remove any excess. Heat 5ml of oil in frying pan on a medium heat, add the diced beef and seal on all sides for 4 minutes. Remove the beef from the pan and rest for 2-3 minutes. Add approximately 300g of diced vegetables including carrots, onions and celery to the pan and cook on a high heat for 2 minutes. During cooking: Return the beef and juices to the pan and stir together for 1 minute on a high heat. Transfer to a heatproof casserole dish, add 850ml of beef stock and 220ml of water. Bring to a simmer for 2-3 minutes on a high heat, cover and place in a preheated oven for 3 hours. After cooking: This product should be cooked until piping hot throughout. If cooking rare, check the surface is fully seared/browned. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only.
