Sainsbury's Welsh Hill Barnsley Lamb Chops, Taste the Difference (Approx. 700g)

To pan fry and oven cook from chilled. If freezing at home, defrost thoroughly before cooking. Before cooking: Preheat oven 190°C / Fan 170°C / Gas 5. Remove all packaging. Leave at room temperature for 10 minutes. Preheat 10ml of oil in a frying pan. Season lamb with a sprinkle of salt and cracked black pepper. During cooking: Add lamb to the pan and seal over a high heat on both sides for 1 minute each side. Add a knob of butter while cooking. Using tongs stand the chop on its edge and seal the remaining 4 edges right the way around, 30 seconds each edge (total 4 minutes frying time). Remove chop from pan and transfer to a baking tray, pour over juices from pan. Place baking tray on middle shelf of the oven and cook for 14 minutes (to serve lamb pink) or 23 minutes (to serve well done). After cooking: Remove from oven and cover with foil to rest. If cooking rare, check the surface is fully seared/browned. This is a guide only. All cooking appliances vary.
