Leerdammer® is an authentic and natural Dutch cheese, with a smooth, mild and nutty flavour. Our Leerdammer® Original cheese slices are deliciously tasty, versatile and convenient. First developed near the village of Leerdam, its namesake, Leerdammer® is made following a traditional method, which gives it its unique mellow flavour and smooth, semi-hard texture. For your convenience, our Leerdammer® cheese comes ready sliced, making it perfect for sandwiches or as a tasty snack, straight from the fridge. Leerdammer® is a real cheese, so it's nutritious as well as delicious. It's a natural source of calcium and protein, with around 24% of your daily calcium needs in one slice (daily reference intake for adults). Finally, every single slice of Leerdammer® cheese is made from the milk of free-grazing cows.
At Leerdammer® we want the best for our cows so we promise that:
- Our cows free-graze for a minimum of 6 hours, for 120 days a year, from Spring to Autumn.
