History: The southern hairy-nose wombat is smaller than other wombats but is stocky, robust and the proud state emblem of South Australia. Like the might of the little wombat, Little Giant is crafted from premium regional South Australian fruit from established vineyards that deliver character and interest well above their size and weight. Grapes are picked at optimal ripeness and minimally handled in the winery to deliver pure fruit vibrancy. Don't let the size fool you, these are wines you'll want to drink.
Regional information: Little Giant Malbec is crafted from fruit sourced from select premium vineyards in South Australia. It was a very dry growing season for the 2024 vintage, resulting in lower yields. However, through great vineyard management and consistent, dry, sunny ripening days during picking, the vintage finished strongly with high-quality fruit. Ultimately delivering a rich single expression of Malbec with complex fruit character.
Vinification: Machine harvested before grape sorting, in the vineyard and winery, and complete destemming. Fermented in open stainless steel tanks at a cool temperature with hand plunging for seven to ten days. Primarily matured in stainless steel tanks with 20% matured in seasoned French oak.
