Prepared Seville Bitter Oranges (75%), Water, Acid: Citric Acid, Gelling Agent: Pectin

Preparation and Safety

Note: Small white specks may be seen in the contents of this can, these are natural deposits of Seville Bitter Oranges and will dissolve on boiling. 1. Empty contents into a large 8pt (4.5 ltrs) saucepan. Add 3/4 pint (425ml) of water using the measure mark on the side of can. 2. Stir in 4lbs of sugar (1.8kg). Bring to the boil stirring continuously with a wooden spoon. 3. Reduce heat, maintain boil for further 15 mins, stir occasionally. Add a knob of butter during boiling to disperse foam. 4. Test for setting - remove from heat, put 1/2 teaspoon of marmalade onto cold saucer and put in a cool place. Test after 2 minutes by drawing a finger over the surface. If it wrinkles, setting point has been reached. If not, reboil for a few minutes. Test again. 5. Stand for further 2-3 minutes before pouring into warmed jars. If peel floats, stir contents of each jar. 6. Cover each jar with screw cap, parchment or film.

FabulousI always buy Mamade. Not many supermarkets stock it. It’s perfect for homemade marmalade. I use 8 Oz less sugar to to make it a little less sweet and and a little more tart.

Time-saver for me!I like to make marmalade and Robertsons MaMade saves me so much time - the Seville oranges which I prefer to make Marmalade with are already shredded and its so easy with a tin of this plus some granulated sugar to make several jars of "home-made" Marmalade.

Just what toast is looking forA friend gave me a jar of Marmalade for a present. She was a cook and it tasted so nice l complimented her on the making of it. Boiling the sugar and prepping the Saville oranges plus lots of other things to get it to be as good as a jar of shop bought marmalade. I ask for the recipe and was amazed when she told me that it was created using a tin of Robertsons MaMade

Bargain marmaladeI have bought this several times - if you like Seville orange marmalade this is so good. Easy to make and a bargain. Just save your old jars with lids and use again and again.

Makes really delicious marmaladeI have been using this product for many years to make my own marmalade. However, I use my own recipe (900g sugar, 200ml water) to make a very much fruitier and less sweet marmalade which is really delicious. (It must be kept in the fridge once opened to stop it going mouldy.)

Nice tasting marmaladeI buy this regularly to make a batch of marmalade as it tastes better than prepared marmalade and is reasonably priced. The only issue is that the recommended amount of sugar of 1.8kg is too sweet, so I reduce to 1.5kg which suits my tastebuds better
