Cooking instructions: Hob

To cook on the hob from chilled: Before cooking: Remove from outer packaging, leaving on inner casing. During cooking: Place gammon joint in a pan with enough water to cover, bring to the boil and skim the surface. Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes per 500g plus 30 minutes. After cooking: Drain. Allow to rest for 5 minutes and carefully remove the outer casing before carving. Always check that the product is cooked throughout, and juices run clear. Check food is piping hot. Do not reheat once cooled. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only.

Cooking instructions: Oven

To oven cook from chilled. Before cooking: Preheat oven 190°C / Fan 170°C / Gas 5. Remove outer packaging but leaving the inner casing in place. Place gammon joint on a baking tray, cover loosely with foil and place in the centre of the oven. During cooking: Cook for 35 minutes per 500g plus 35 minutes, remove foil for the last 35 minutes of cooking time. After cooking: Allow to rest for 2 minutes before removing the the inner casing and carving. Always check that the product is cooked throughout and juices run clear. Check food is piping hot.
