Our vineyards are located in Mâconnais in the south of the Bourgogne region. Delicious and charming, this Mâcon-Villages offers aromas of ripe vineyard peach together with apricot nuances. Certified « Vignerons Engagés », we are proud to offer this wine produced following strict sustainable winegrowing practices.

History: The Bourgogne winegrowing region benefits from an exceptional location and enjoys a continental climate ideal for wines. Its geology, rich and complex, allows a fabulous complexity and roundness to the red wines. This combination between climate, terroir and the work of the growers makes Burgundy wines as the most prestigious wines in the world.

Regional information: The Mâconnais hills form a set of slopes separated by parallel faults that are oriented north, north-east or south/south-west. The vineyards are located on calcareous, siliceous, clay rich or sandy soils, often mixed with sand stone pebbles.

Vinification: The harvest is brought in based on the progress of ripening in the plots. The juice is extracted slowly at low pressure by pneumatic pressing. Filtering at the end of the process ensures the wine is as clear and bright as possible

An elegant and modern-style wineThis is an elegant modern-style wine. No sign of oak or honey notes. Very clean and clear. Light and delicate on the palate, with fresh citrus notes. Just the right level of acidity. Reasonably long on the palate. Would go very well with a simple fish course, especially lemon sole or plaice. Not a wine for rich French sauces.

Excellent value White BurgundyI tried a bottle of this which was Sainsbury’s most expensive white Burgundy. Not disappointed! A cut or two above the others and compared well against more expensive buys from specialist merchants. A lovely drop for a posh fish dinner!

Blason wines from France represent good valueMacon villages is a reasonably priced White Burgundy and one of our favourites. It is ideal with roast Chicken for Sunday dinner: not overpowering in taste but able to complement Cumberland sausages served with the chicken.
