Preparation and Safety

To Cook Remove all packaging. Cut into 2 cm slices and grill or fry on high heat for 4 mins approx. Flip over & repeat. This is a raw product, ensure it is thoroughly cooked before serving.

Storage

Refrigerate 0- 4°C. Consume within 3 days of opening & use by date. Suitable for freezing. Defrost in a fridge and consume within 24hrs. Do not refreeze once defrosted.

VILE!!This is nothing ike a proper balck poudding. It has a thick coating of what looks like some kind of seeds which have a dreadful textuire and flaour. In fact the opverall falvour is nothing like a traditional black pudding. Also it ios made from coew instead of pig's blood. It just tastes dreadful. I threw out the rest of it as I found it was in edible.

Aviod unless you like zero flavourThis was in my weekly shop as an alternative, it was more expensive than the usual one and it’s probably the worst black pudding I’ve ever eaten. There are that many seeds and filler in it that it barely tastes of anything. The fat content it’s marginal I can’t describe the bland taste it literally has no flavour. I cooked 2 small discs ate half of one a three the entire roll in the bin. I don’t usually write reviews and this is my first on Sainsbury’s but this is just awful so you’ve been warned buy a different brand

Simply the best!I noticed that one reviewer claimed that this pudding is dry to its lack of fat content. I put mine in the microwave for just two minutes and the fat flooded out. It does though have a high cereal content, and therefore just on its own it can be a very satisfying light meal.

More like haggisTried this a change from my usual Bury black pudd.
You don't need a lot as part of a breakfast so I get four, even five, servings out of this. I microwave the slices for 30 sec, flip, 10 sec more; then BRIEFLY into the frying-pan to brown/crisp (too much and it'll harden up). If it breaks apart that usually means you're faffing it about too much.
The high oatmeal content is obvious, and (along with the taste) this firmly puts it in the haggis camp as far as I'm concerned.
The name aside, a pleasant change.

Not what I would call black puddingBeen trying to find a decent black pudding for ages so gave this a go. Like most I've tried it's disappointing as there's too much cereal and no large pieces of fat which is indicative of a proper black pudding.

Rolls Royce of puddings!This is by far and away my go-to for black pudding and has been in my extended family for quite a while.

Some have noted the high oat content - I wouldn't say it was excessive and only add to the crumbly texture I adore from this pudding when cooked.

More flavoursome than most other brands of black pudding I have tried. Thoroughly recommend this - cook, cool and crumble into a salad for something different!
