History: Nested in the iconic village of Vergisson in the heart of the rocky Mâconnais region, Thierry Drouin has been making wines since 1981 and the “Orée des Charmes” range has been created and designed to prove that high quality Burgundy chardonnays can still be accessible and affordable.

Vinification: After harvests, the grapes are gravity loaded to a pneumatic press. The pressing is long & gentle to ensure the juice is delicately extracted to preserve its aromatic finesse. After being cooled down & decanted by gravity, the must is transferred, 70% to stainless steel tanks & 30% to oak barrels under controlled temperature for its alcohol & malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged on its thin lees separately in tanks and barrels until the next spring before the bottling in the beginning of summer.
