LAGER

TASTING NOTES

Peppery, clean,
some gentle sweetness

The world’s most popular beer style is more varied than you may think and it comes in a range of flavours and colours from light to dark. The lager you’re probably most familiar with is pale lager but there’s also pilsners, helles, bock and dark lagers to name a few. One of the hardest beers to brew, lager is a diverse style, and one that can’t be beaten on hot summer’s day.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Fried fish, pepperoni pizzas,
roast pork, tandoori dishes

Thanks to its diversity and versatility there’s very little lager doesn’t pair well with. Lagers match well with lighter foods such as shellfish and chicken but also do well with pizza, mild curries, salmon, fish and chips, burgers and hot dogs. Dark lagers can handle bigger flavours. Look to BBQ’d food, blue cheeses and mushroom dishes.
