Preparation and Safety

Cooking instructions: Oven

Oven cooked from chilled. If freezing at home, defrost thoroughly before cooking. Before cooking: Preheat oven to 190oC / Fan 170oC / Gas 5. Remove all packaging. Place breast fillets on a baking tray on the middle shelf of the oven. During cooking: Cook for 35 minutes. Turn halfway through cooking. After cooking: Check food is piping hot. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only. Chef's Tips: Cook in a dish with lemon slices, onion and bay leaves

Warnings:

Don't wash raw chicken

Keep raw poultry separate from cooked foods.

Use separate kitchen utensils and surfaces for raw poultry and cooked foods or wash them thoroughly in between use.

Wash hands after handling raw poultry.

Cook raw poultry thoroughly until it is piping hot throughout and no pink colour remains.

Poultry is cooked if the juices run clear when the deepest part of the flesh is pierced with a thin skewer.

Shelf LifeSold with one day shelf life, disgusting. Only mentioned the a pack of vegetables with short shelf life. Unbelievable. this is why I shop at Ocado, never ever, ever, ever short life like this. And refund policy so much easier. Sainsbury;s makes it extra hard so people don't bother. Thanks, received chicken on Friday and was already out of date today on Sunday for when I needed it. 13GBP for rotten meat, thanks so much!

Appears to have been sourced from a rubber chickenI am a regular buyer of the TTD chicken breasts but in the last months the quality of the product has noticeably declined.

The last few times I’ve purchased the chicken it has been so dense and fibrous that it’s been virtually inedible - incredibly rubbery and unpleasantly chewy (irrespective of the cooking method). When slicing the raw meat it’s like cutting through a tennis ball and I’m sure it would bounce as easily as well!

Even 24 hours marinating in buttermilk fails to reduce the dense and rubbery texture. I’ve had to resort to tenderising the breasts with a meat hammer before cooking the last few times, but even this isn’t entirely effective.

More often than not the chicken breasts are not entirely skinless and have lots of grotty flesh left on them with the occasional sliver of bone (all neatly tucked under the breast so it’s not visible through the packet - so obviously intentional).

Very disappointed given the price. Will have to make a special journey to a rival supermarket on a weekly basis just to buy chicken!

Variable qualityThe quality of these chicken breasts is not consistent, which is frustrating. In previous orders, I got really nice ones, but the most recent ones I received were tough and dry. It is not a cooking style issue, as I cooked them in the same way each time.

Not great in many waysSteamed this , it looked stringy before cooking and extremely stringy and tough after cooking , quite possibly the worst chicken I’ve bought recently . It also had a fair amount of viscous thick and gloopy stuff dripping off it before cooking . I tried to eat it but did not , the dog did eat it with no undue effects though , I won’t buy again . Poor product considering the price .
