Preparation and Safety

Cooking instructions: Oven

Oven cook from chilled. If freezing at home defrost thoroughly before cooking. Before cooking: Preheat oven. Remove all packaging. Place thighs & drumsticks on a baking tray on the middle shelf of the oven. During cooking: Turn halfway through cooking. After cooking: Check food is piping hot. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only. Oven cook from chilled 190oC / Fan 170oC / Gas 5 35 mins Chef's Tips: During cooking shake the meat in it's juices to ensure an even flavour and a rich caramelised texture. Once the chicken is cooked allow a few minutes rest for the skin to crisp up

Warnings:

Don't wash raw chicken

Keep raw poultry separate from cooked foods.

Use separate kitchen utensils and surfaces for raw poultry and cooked foods or wash them thoroughly in between use.

Wash hands after handling raw poultry.

Cook raw poultry thoroughly until it is piping hot throughout and no pink colour remains.

Poultry is cooked if the juices run clear when the deepest part of the flesh is pierced with a thin skewer.

My dog likes theseI actually buy these for my dog! She gets the drumsticks & I use the thighs for whatever I need them for. I've used them to make a curry, and I have no complaints about them at all.

Tasteless!This is the second time I've bought these chicken joints, the first ones were lacking in flavour, but I'd slightly overcooked them, so gave them a second chance.. These were even worse, even when properly cooked. They had good texture, but completely lacked taste or flavour. Shan't be repeating the exercise a third time. Had some chicken wings a short time ago, they were disappointing too.. Back to the local butcher methinks...

AwfulThe most awful chicken I've cooked yet with very little flavour. I doubt it was all from the same chicken as the legs were different sizes making it awkward to cook as a small batch. Won't be buying again.

Good chickenAlways a favourite in our house and they are so versatile. It's also good that they still have the skin on as that is the favourite part for most of our household. Always keep at least one pack in the freezer.

Good quality meatFabulous portions of chicken. We regularly eat these so it warms anything new for us to try. Super meaty and produced a lovely bit of stock for extras dishes later. We cooked these in regular oven just roasting then with seasoning and a bit of water. Skin crisped up lovely and served with fresh veg (new pots, broccoli and carrots)... Fab easy meal

Taste the difference chicken piecesI used these taste the difference chicken drumsticks and thighs to make a casserole with onions and carrotts.I found them to be a nice size, tasty and very tender plenty of meat. They would also be very good to have roasted for a buffet.

Really nice flavour and meatyYou don’t get as many as illustrated on pack, I got 2 thighs and 2 drumsticks, but they looked good quality and meaty. I added a spice coating to the skins, cooked in oven for 35mins and they tasted delicious, really flavoursome. I served with a salad for a lighter meal.

Quality does make a difference.We eat lots of chicken and it can be hit or miss but the quality of these thigh & drumsticks was excellent. Slow cooker curry with lots of flavour and none of that froth you can get with some chicken.
