Produced from the indigenous grapes of the region, Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng, this Jurançon is lively and fruity with zesty lemon and tangerine aromas and flavours of juicy ripe apples. Jurançon boasts a long wine making history and enjoys an enviable position at the foothills of the Pyrenees in South West France. The steep, terraced vineyards have maximum sun exposure which produce ripe, full-flavoured grapes.

The vibrant, fruity nature of this wine makes it a great match for spicy food but it also makes a delicious aperitif.

Stunning for the priceI usually go for sparkling or light whites, but now I have tried this I'm hooked! Impressive, complex bouquet, delicious chilled. The bottle is elegant. At first I did not realise that the ABV is 13.5 (!) but had a look after experiencing the effects. What a find.

Delicious and refreshing dry white French wineMy partner and I thoroughly enjoyed this fresh and fruity French wine. We opened the very attractive bottle to enjoy as an aperitif before dinner and we were not disappointed with our choice. We ensured that it was sufficiently chilled before opening and this ensured that we could enjoy the full and fruity flavour of the wine. It's label states that it is a '2' on the dryness scale but it is certainly not too dry for our palates. In fact it is an easy to drink wine - with or without food. In short, a great tasting wine that we will definitely buy again.

Something a little differentMy wife and I enjoy a glass of wine but are often overwhelmed by the amount of choice available so when the opportunity to review a variety we wouldn't normally choose we jumped at it. This Jurancon Sec had a light sweet citrus taste and went very well with our dinner.

Lovely testing wineI found this to be a lovely testing wine that is very light and can be enjoyed on its own or as an accompaniment to food. I would have no hesitation in recommending this wine as a good buy. It is reasonably priced and I will be buying again.

Full bodied and fruityFirstly, this has quite a depth of colour, not pale as I expected. It is also quite full bodied and fruity, also unexpected. I really enjoyed the first lovely cold glass but this is not a wine I could drink too much of. It fairly quickly loses the refreshing quality and feels quite thick on the tongue.

Our thoughts on Jurancon Sec wineThe Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Jurancon Sec wine is a very pleasant and pleasing dry white wine from the Pau region of France, an area of interesting history near the Pyrenees that we have visited. We tried this wine on a warm summer evening and found its dry, refreshing, lemony nature hit the spot nicely. It would also be ideal with fish or mild cheese. For the price it seemed reasonable to us, but not exceptional value for money considering other French wines available.
