Preparation and Safety

Cooking instructions: Oven

Oven cook from chilled. If freezing at home, defrost thoroughly before cooking. Before cooking: Preheat oven to 190oC / Fan 170oC / gas 5. Remove all packaging. Place thighs & drumsticks on a baking tray on the middle shelf of the oven. During cooking: Cook for 35 minutes. Turn halfway through cooking. After cooking: Check food is piping hot. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only.

Warnings:

Don't wash raw chicken

Keep raw poultry separate from cooked foods.

Use separate kitchen utensils and surfaces for raw poultry and cooked foods or wash them thoroughly in between use.

Wash hands after handling raw poultry.

Cook raw poultry thoroughly until it is piping hot throughout and no pink colour remains.

Poultry is cooked when the juices run clear when the deepest part of the flesh is pierced with a thin skewer.

Tough as old boots - ORGANIC chicken pieces.This ORGANIC chicken was tough as old boots.
I would not recommend this chicken. Bought on Sunday 23rd Nov 2025. Cooked it as part of a roast dinner and we could not cut the meat. I picked mine up to eat any of it. Most of it got thrown away uneaten. If this is chicken needs a long slow cook it needs to say that on the packet.
Do not buy.

Shrinks to hardly nothing!We cooked this in the oven with other ingredients and they shrunk down to the bone! We bought organic thinking there would be less water, but would definitely not buy this product again

Excellent tasteI bought these last week and I am so glad I did.
These chicken thighs are tender and juicy, with a buttery texture that melts in your mouth.
When it comes to chicken, the thigh and the drumsticks are two of the most popular cuts. Both offer their own unique flavor and texture, making them ideal for a variety of dishes.I made excellent meals from this pack!

Shocking qualityI am honestly shocked that these are classed as Organic, Free range. I have NEVER in my life had such tough, rubbery chicken. Cooked for 40mins and although the skin crisped up, the chicken meat was tasteless, rubbery and extremely disappointing. Will never purchase again.

Sorry Sainsbury’sRoasted these legs and thighs simply with salt and pepper. The legs were extremely disappointing. Feel sure I’ve purchased these before and they were good. This time sadly, they are very sinuous and not pleasant. Can’t recommend.

Very Fresh ChickenI buy around 3 boxes weekly that's how good it is. It'll still feel fresh after it's been freezed and defrosted. I either cut them into small pieces for stir-fry, or roast them as they are. I also marinate them with soy sauce, honey and black pepper and bake them for 40 mins as a snack. The meat is firm and it's quality. It doesn't require a lot of seasonings but still tasty.
